Of course this has already been covered, but since I can't read Deutsch, I'll ask it again. I replaced the rear shocks fairly recently, but what exists for the front struts? I see someone was trying to get Spax to build replacements, any luck?

Does VW sell just the front strut inserts for a Country? I'm in the States, so I can't just stroll down to VW and ask them... ETKA shows a part number 191 413 037A, as well as number 191 413 079. Is one the insert only, and the other the whole assembly?

I'm looking to refresh the fronts, and possibly add air suspension to the existing struts/shocks.

191 413 079 is only a limit stop (shoud be a little rubber piece)

191 413 037A is the shock absorber

Thanks Jojo... I'm curious if just the inserts are available, or does the part number reference the entire strut? The inserts would look like this:


Obviously, I'd rather get just the inserts. And I wouldn't be too surprised if standard Golf strut inserts could be used...

Actually, now I'm thinking more along the lines of these for the Country:


The manufacturer will be making longer versions of the std. Mk2 pieces for the Country. If I can put this together I'll update this thread later this year with the results!
