Yeah Joe! From the T4 and also possibly the Sharan syncro... might be fun to have a true locking rear diff in a Country. I've got most of the mounting figured out, it's nearly the same as a Haldex rea ...

Thanks Joe. If I were to do the conversion I would have access to all of the Country components, shocks and struts included.

The only question is whether the rear diff will clear the fwd Golf's gas ...

Isn't the 16V block also missing a mounting boss in back that the support bracket for the syncro angle drive bolts onto?

Yes, that Peloquin will work with the Country's rear diff. I have one, but haven't installed the diff yet.

I'm also working on swapping in a fully lockable rear diff from the T4/Sharan syncro:

Which version does the Country use? I'm referring to the diameter of the recess where the guibo(?) mounts, and the bolt threads in... My money is on the 22mm version. Danke!
